Professional Development
Kilworth Children's Centre is committed to ongoing Professional Development. It is an expectation that every member of our team participates in Professional Development opportunities relevant to their position.
Professional Development opportunities include the following: * attending workshops and training sessions * participating in network sessions * sharing workshop information with peers * going on tours of other centres in the area |
Mentoring & LeadershipIt is very important that we have leaders who are connected with the child care community. The Executive Director and some of our educators are involved in community committees and networking groups.
Mentoring is an important component of professional development. It takes many forms within our centre. Director to staff, staff to director and peer to peer. This also extends to the community and our involvement with local highschool students/volunteers and having students doing their placements with us in the centre who are currently in an Early Childhood Education Program. |
